On Tuesday 3rd November 2009 the collection of the Czech Olympic Team for the XXI. Winter Olympic Games was introduced. The collection from the Czech sportswear company Alpine Pro was, for the first time in history, designed and functionally tailored to the needs of the athletes. The development of the Olympic collection was overseen by an expert committee comprising the Czech Olympic mission manager František Dvořák, Olympic champion Kateřina Neumannová, figure skater Tomáš Verner, single scull rower Ondřej Synek, horse jumper Natálie Roučková and Alpine Pro fashion designer Lucie Kuříková.
We selected functional materials and also adapted technical solutions of individual models – e.g. the celebratory winter set was fitted with zipper ventilations which help regulate temperature differences. The membrane applied in the celebratory set material provides for maximum wearer comfort.
The Czech Olympic Committee awarded Alpine Pro fashion designer, Lucie Kuříková, for her successful collection with a Olympic gold medal inscribed “Olympic Clothing Gold Medallist”. The official Czech clothing won the internet survey run by the Huffington Post paper for best Winter Olympic clothing collection.
